The Greater Fort Erie Youth Soccer Club aligns its Youth Competitive Soccer Program with Ontario Soccer’s Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) program. LTPD is about putting the player first and offering age-appropriate opportunities for kids to enjoy the game of soccer. Making the game fun is key in teaching and coaching so that players will continue in the game and may even coach or referee as they get older.
The outdoor development program runs in the spring and summer during the competitive teams regular outdoor league play.
If your players age group is not listed, please attend the next age group older to that of your player and inform the coach the age of the player. For example, if there are any girls eligible to play U10, please attend the U11 girls session and talk to Coach Buhl. At that point, if there is enough interest to field teams at both U10 and U11 Girls, the club will know and will proceed accordingly. Another example would be a male eligible to play U13 - please attend the U14 Boys session and talk to Coach Carlesso/Fletcher.
If there is no age group listed for your player and no age group above, please still register as we actively monitor interest and will communicate if enough interest becomes available.

REMINDERS:
• Have your player ready with cleats and shin guards on prior to the tryout start time.
• Dress for the weather as tryouts will be outdoors. We always recommend gloves and layers if it's cold and damp.
• All registered house league and travel players are welcome at tryouts! If you paid for house league and make they travel team, you would just have to pay the difference. If you paid for travel, and your player unfortunately does not make the team, you will be automatically registered for house league and be refunded the difference.
• Your player is not required to attend all tryouts, BUT they will have a better shot at showcasing their skills if they do.
Travel League: $350
Youth Competitive Travel is a youth soccer that plays at an elite level. The team will travel throughout the Niagara Region representing the Greater Fort Erie Youth Soccer Club as they compete against other cities anywhere between Grimsby to Welland. Travel teams may also have the opportunity to travel out of the region to participate in Festivals or Tournaments.
Competitive Travel Teams are created after a minimum of two tryouts for players to attend. The assigned Head Coach will run the tryouts and, along with the help of the Greater Fort Erie Youth Soccer Club's Vice President and Director of Youth Competitive Programs, will select the squad for their team. Players will be evaluated on their technical skills, athletic ability and game awareness but coaches will also be looking at effort, attitude and coachability. Make sure that you bring your entire skillset to tryouts!
Teams will practice twice a week during the season and play one game. Coaches are aware that vacations can often take place during the summer and that older children may have jobs. For that reason, it is up to the parent/player to make the coach aware of such. The coach of each team can set out at the beginning of the year what he/she expects from players and what the rules will be regarding missed practices or games.
Coaches may decide to start practicing throughout the winter months, which may coincide with other activities of the player. All coaches are aware that the Greater Fort Erie Youth Soccer Club encourages players to do other activities so while best efforts to attend are expected; it is understandable if this is not possible all the times.
