The Greater Fort Erie Youth Soccer Club is thrilled to announce that our 2025 season will be open for registration in early February for both Youth Recreational and Competitive soccer. Players will get the chance to make friends, build skills and have fun! Payments that will be accepted at the In-House Registration are Visa, Mastercard, cash or cheque. Debit, Visa Debit and E-Transfer are not accepted at this time.

TRAVEL SOCCER PROGRAM
We are excited to announce that travel team tryouts for the Fort Erie Sting travel soccer program will commence April1st, 2025. All tryouts will be held at Greater Fort Erie Secondary School on the turf field. All players interested in trying out must be registered in PowerUp prior to tryouts (either under Travel or House League). Players must wear the proper soccer equipment to tryouts (cleats are recommended, shin guards are a must). Please visit our Travel League page for dates and times. 

Once the 2025 schedule is created, times/dates for tryouts for our various ages can be located on our calendar or our new feed.

If your players age group is not listed, please attend the next age group older to that of your player and inform the coach the age of the player. For example, if there are any girls eligible to play U10, please attend the U11 girls session and talk to Coach Buhl. At that point, if there is enough interest to field teams at both U10 and U11 Girls, the club will know and will proceed accordingly. Another example would be a male eligible to play U13 - please attend the U14 Boys session and talk to Coach Carlesso/Fletcher.

If there is no age group listed for your player and no age group above, please still register as we actively monitor interest and will communicate if enough interest becomes available.

Big Changes to House League in 2025!

There are big changes to GFEYSC’s house league program this year.  First, and most importantly we are moving to separate boys and girls leagues at each age group, (except U4 and U6).  Second, and related to the first, is we have adjusted the age groupings of these leagues.

Why we are doing it

Historically, Fort Erie soccer has always had strong numbers at the U6 and U8 levels, with roughly equal numbers of girls and boys playing.  Starting at U10, there is a real divergence between enrollment between girls and boys, which gets only gets more pronounced by U13.  In other words, we start losing girls at U10 and it continues to diverge as they get older.  Losing those age groups make it very difficult to maintain travel teams for girls beyond age 10.  As evidence, we have 12 travel teams heading into the upcoming year, only 3 of which are girls teams.  We, as a club, are making it a priority to improve enrollment for the girls.  We are not saying that the girls can’t compete with the boys at those ages.  They absolutely can!  We are merely recognising this as an issue and trying to keep our girls playing soccer in Fort Erie as they enter adolescence.  We are hopeful that this approach will work, as clubs in Niagara that use this model have been successful, namely Welland, Niagara United and West Niagara, in carrying top girls programs.

U18 Interlock

This year our U18 teams will play in the West Niagara Interlock Soccer League (WNISL).  This, again is to give those age group a chance to play in a real league.  In the past, we have run the U18 program as a coed pick up night. While this can be fun, it doesn’t scratch that competitive itch that playing 11v11 in an organized league can provide.  Playing in this league will hopefully keep those that love the game playing into adulthood.   Last year, we entered a U14 boys team into this league, and found the level of soccer to be quite good and worthwhile for those that played.
